Overthrone is a public ranking of links where position is decided by one thing: what the listing paid to be there. Pay more than the holder and you take their place. They keep nothing, and so will you when someone pays more than you.

There are two boards. The global board is open to any business with a public website. The Whop board is only for communities and products sold on Whop. They rank separately — each has its own number one, and a listing competes only against the others on its own board. The money counter and the activity feed below cover both.

Most directories hide this. They rank by an algorithm, then sell placement quietly on the side. This one skips the pretence. The sort order is the price list, the price list is public, and the amount every listing paid is printed next to it.

How it makes money

The same way it says it does. Every placement is charged in full at checkout through Whop. There are no pledges, no invoices, and no promises to collect later — a listing does not appear on the board until the money has actually cleared. To date the boards have collected $0 across 0 payments.

That figure, and every other number on the site, is on the stats page, read live from the database. Visitor and online counts are real sessions. Click counts are real clicks, deduplicated per visitor per hour.

Why you would pay for this

Because the listing sends real traffic, tagged so you can see it in your own analytics, and because a rank is a claim you can point at. The board is also a link from a page that indexes — we link out to every listing, on purpose.

And because being visibly first in your category is worth something to the kind of person who is competitive enough to be reading this.

What it is not

It is not a contest, a raffle, or a game of chance. Nothing is drawn and nothing is awarded. The highest price occupies the highest position, every time, and you can verify the ordering yourself on any board.
