Rules
Ten rules, no exceptions
The whole product is one mechanic. These are the edges of it.
- 01
There are two boards, ranked separately
The global board is open to any business with a public website. The Whop board is only for communities and products sold on Whop. Each board has its own rank one and its own categories, and a listing competes only against the other listings on its own board. Paying a large amount on one board does not move anything on the other.
- 02
Rank is price order
Each board sorts by the amount currently paid for each listing, highest first. There is no algorithm, no editorial judgement, and no weighting. The board is the price list.
- 03
A bid is a price, not a deposit
Your bid is the amount you pay, in full, at checkout. It replaces whatever you paid before rather than adding to it. Paying $50 after previously paying $20 sets your position to $50, not $70.
- 04
To take a rank, beat the holder
You must pay at least $1 more than whoever holds the position you want. The minimum to enter a board at all is $25.
- 05
Ties go to whoever got there first
If two listings hold the same amount, the one that reached that amount earlier ranks higher. This is why paying the exact same price as the holder does not take their spot.
- 06
Your position has no fixed duration
A placement lasts until someone pays more than you. That can be a month or a minute. We do not sell time on the board and we do not offer lifetime placement. If nobody outbids you, you stay.
- 07
One listing per domain
A domain can hold one position at a time. Submitting the same domain again raises that listing rather than creating a second one, so nobody can carpet a board with duplicates.
- 08
Payments are final
Placement fees are non-refundable. Being outbid is the product working as described, not a fault, and it is not grounds for a refund. If you are unwilling to lose the position you paid for, do not bid.
- 09
What we remove
Adult content, illegal goods or services, malware and abuse tooling, credential or account trading, phishing, and offers promising guaranteed financial returns. We also remove links that redirect somewhere different from what was submitted. Removed listings are refunded for the amount paid on the removed placement.
- 10
Links are tagged and counted
Outbound links carry a utm_source tag so you can see the traffic in your own analytics, and we publish the click count on every listing page. One click is counted per visitor per hour, so the number is defensible rather than flattering.
- 11
We can refuse a listing
We may decline or remove any submission at our discretion, and will refund the placement fee when we do. We will not remove a listing merely because a competitor asks us to.
